Rev. Dr. James H. Redd, Jr.

Rev. Dr. James H. Redd, Jr was called into the Gospel Ministry in May, 1996 and licensed to preach in April, 1998.  He was installed as the 11th Pastor of Sixteenth Street Baptist Church on May 4, 2019.

Rev. Redd attended high school in the McDowell County School System. He received his Associates and Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology from Bluefield State College in 2003. In 2010, he received his MBA in Management from King University and in September, 2019, he received his Doctorate in Theology from Omega Bible Institute & Seminary in Monroe, LA.

Rev. Redd is a manufacturing engineer at Kamatsu Mining & Machinery in Bluefield, VA.  He is married to the former Kelly L. Simmons of Richlands, VA. They are the parents of 4 children Logan Simmons 16, Kayson Porter 4, Jaden Redd 12 and Janay Andrews 31.

His favorite scriptures are: 

The steps pf a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth  in his way.  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. Psalm 37:23-24

And we know that all good things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28.
